Still Staying Alert …. Papercut Shadowbox
I am delighted that my papercut shadowbox has been selected for the SWAc Online Exhibition Reflections 2020.
Wed 4th November – Friday11th December 2020 Reflections 2020
The seaside town of Exmouth, Devon in lockdown was eerily quiet. Coronavirus rules reminded us to Stay Alert.
Viewed from a third-floor window, the pigeons were almost the only signs of movement. Traffic was at a standstill, not because of traffic jams but because no traffic was on the road.
This Papercut Shadowbox is one of my reflections on the Coronavirus lockdown of 2020 as it captured my mood of the moment.
I have used scissors, photographs and sketches to create a 3D Shadowbox from my collection of studies. As a paper-cutter I used traditional and digital techniques. (This included my trusty electronic cutting machine for replicating layers). Hand-cut silhouette paper was folded and unfolded. Layers of images were concertinaed together. I linked pattern and shape with handwritten text.
Showing on SWAc Reflections 2020 online exhibition.
Papercut shadowbox and prints are for sale.
